Damian Coyne appointed Chief Executive Officer at Cevo to drive AWS growth
Cevo has announced the appointment of Damian Coyne as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Damian Coyne brings over 15 years of experience in technology and business development, having held senior positions in organisations such as Microsoft, Kloud Solutions, Contino, Versent, and most recently CGI Australia following its acquisition of BJSS, where Coyne led the expansion of Australian operations as Regional Director and served as Vice President of Growth.
Leadership transition
Coyne replaces James Lewis as CEO. James Lewis will take on a new role, heading public sector operations at Cevo with a focus on expanding service delivery and technical capabilities for government clients.
The leadership change comes as the company aims to deepen its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and expand its work in AI-powered digital transformation on top of its established cloud, data, and modernisation foundations.
Strategic direction
"I'm excited to be joining Cevo at this stage in its journey," said Damian Coyne. "Cevo has an incredible foundation, a passionate team and a strong reputation in the market. I'm looking forward to working with the team to build on that success and take the business to its next stage of growth. Together, we will continue to deliver market-leading cloud, data and digital transformation outcomes for our customers, and further strengthen our collaboration with AWS. The pool of agile, focused and customer-centric partners dedicated to helping customers transform their businesses through the power of AWS' platform is very small, and I'm proud to amplify that capability further through my appointment as CEO."
Coyne's responsibility will include leading Cevo's overall business strategy, driving new customer engagements, and furthering its partnership with AWS. His experience in cloud, data, and digital transformation along with a background in scaling technology operations is expected to influence Cevo's growth trajectory.
Cevo has developed a profile as a specialised AWS partner supporting organisational migrations, modernisation, data, and artificial intelligence programmes for both commercial and public sector entities within Australia.
Focus on public sector
James Lewis, the outgoing CEO, will now oversee Cevo's public sector business. The company states that this change aims to build on its existing relationship with AWS while strengthening offerings for government and public sector organisations.
Cevo plans to accelerate its AI-led digital transformation services. Under Coyne's stewardship, the intention is to develop new capabilities in AI, building on the company's history of cloud and data solutions delivery in the local market.
Cevo's current service portfolio covers migration, modernisation, data, and AI services, supporting over 200 organisations; these include commercial enterprises, start-ups, and public sector clients.
Coyne's appointment marks a significant point in Cevo's long-term strategy to remain competitive through technology enablement and enhanced client focus, particularly with regard to their AWS partnership.
