CyberArk leads 2024 Gartner PAM Quadrant for sixth year

Thu, 12th Sep 2024

CyberArk has been named a leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management.

This marks the sixth consecutive year that the identity security company has earned this recognition. The company has achieved the furthest position in the Completeness of Vision category, which evaluates vendors on criteria such as product strategy, innovation, and market understanding.

Data indicates that 93% of organisations experienced two or more identity-related breaches over the past year, underscoring the importance of effective identity management and security. CyberArk's Identity Security Platform aims to address this need by securing a wide range of identities, encompassing workforce, IT, developer, and machine identities. The platform supports modern access cases, such as enforcing Zero Standing Privileges in public cloud environments. Central to the platform is CyberArk’s privileged access management (PAM) capability, which enables flexible privilege controls to prevent unauthorised access to credentials and secrets across enterprise infrastructures.

“We are incredibly proud to once again be named a Leader by Gartner. CyberArk delivers identity security programmes for a multi-cloud world. We feel that our position as a Leader in this year’s report, for the sixth consecutive time, is a testament to our commitment to ongoing innovation and customer success,” remarked Matt Cohen, CEO of CyberArk. “Identity security is no longer just about human identities. As identities – especially machine identities – proliferate, driven by new hybrid and multi-cloud environments, an effective identity security strategy must secure them all with the right level of privilege controls. CyberArk’s advanced PAM, secrets management, and endpoint privilege security capabilities are key to empowering our customers to secure every identity and defend against cyberattacks.”

CyberArk aims to deliver a comprehensive identity security platform with several key features. The company emphasises outstanding customer experience by prioritising customer needs and ensuring secured identities with appropriate privilege controls. This unified, SaaS-based platform aims to simplify and enhance the administrator and end-user experience, reducing costs and complexity while aiding organisations in accelerating their cloud migration with consistent identity security controls.

The company also offers PAM programmes tailored for a multi-cloud world. The CyberArk Identity Security Platform is designed to provide extensive PAM capabilities, natively and centrally securing both shared and federated privileged access for IT and cloud operations teams supporting digital initiatives. Intelligent privilege controls can scale across various environments, from on-premises data centres to elastic cloud workloads, public cloud services, and SaaS applications.

CyberArk continues to innovate by integrating artificial intelligence into its offerings. The company recently launched new capabilities for securing multiple identity types, extending PAM controls to various identity categories, including workforce identities. Notable additions include support for secure standing access and zero standing privileges, alongside the ability to isolate and audit privileged sessions. Additionally, CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager now features strong end-to-end passwordless authentication for signing into endpoints and managing application controls. The unified portal offers a streamlined end-user experience with one-click native access to enterprise resources, supported by intelligent privilege controls.
