Check Point & Illumio join forces to boost Zero Trust security

Today

Check Point Software Technologies and Illumio have announced a strategic partnership to integrate the Check Point Infinity Platform with the Illumio Platform for enhanced cybersecurity in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The collaboration is designed to enable organisations to rapidly identify and mitigate lateral movement risks by deploying advanced microsegmentation enforcement.

Customers will be able to combine Check Point Quantum Force Firewalls, Infinity Threat Cloud AI, and AI Powered Security Management with Illumio Segmentation and Illumio Insights to neutralise threats and reinforce overall cybersecurity defences.

Itai Greenberg, Chief Revenue Officer at Check Point Software, said, "Stopping lateral movement is critical to breach prevention. Our partnership with Illumio delivers unmatched visibility and adaptive policy enforcement, empowering organisations to contain threats fast. It also demonstrates the strength of our hybrid mesh architecture, which we envision as an open garden, and our commitment to driving Zero Trust strategies with industry leaders."

The partnership's integration leverages Check Point Quantum Force firewalls as core enforcement points for blocking malicious traffic.

When a threat is detected, Check Point's AI Security Management software dynamically notifies these firewalls on the specific measures required to block emerging threats. The integration with Illumio provides additional AI-driven insights, helping to identify risks and potential attack routes quickly for rapid containment.

This combined approach is aimed at halting unauthorised lateral movement and protecting essential digital assets, while maintaining a consistent Zero Trust security framework across hybrid infrastructure environments.

Among the key benefits outlined, the companies highlight a collaborative approach to Zero Trust security. This includes effective microsegmentation across hybrid environments without added deployment complexity, simplifying and accelerating Zero Trust adoption for enterprise customers.

The integration is also intended to deliver proactive threat prevention, enabling organisations to detect and contain attacks earlier, thereby reducing breach risks and the associated costs. By preventing attacks from spreading laterally across networks, cloud resources, and other assets, it aims to stop cyber incidents before they impact critical business operations.

The collaboration includes enhanced threat intelligence capabilities, utilising combined threat data from Check Point's ThreatCloud AI and Illumio Insights to improve risk mitigation and minimise security incidents.

Andrew Rubin, CEO and Founder of Illumio, commented, "This powerful collaboration between Illumio and Check Point marks a significant step forward in cybersecurity threat intelligence and breach containment. The integration of Illumio and Check Point represents a shift towards smarter, more adaptive cybersecurity by enhancing visibility, enabling real-time threat detection and response, and providing adaptive security measures that align with Zero Trust principles."

"Our proactive approach helps security teams connect the dots and uncover hidden threats more efficiently to avoid cyber disasters."

As part of the broader partnership, Illumio Insights and Illumio Segmentation remain key features of the Illumio Platform, which is focused on breach containment.

Illumio Insights uses an AI security graph to help organisations quickly detect threats, while Illumio Segmentation facilitates containment of breaches and rapid response to incidents. Both tools are designed to strengthen cyber resilience, identify and mitigate risks, and enhance organisational response to security challenges.

Check Point's Quantum Force is described as a suite of AI-powered, cloud-delivered security gateways that deliver unified management and protection across on-premises, cloud and Firewall-as-a-Service setups. This suite forms part of the broader Infinity Platform, offering AI-powered security features designed to streamline management and boost effectiveness against a range of cyberthreats.

The integration is set to offer customers unified visibility, adaptive policy enforcement, and consistent Zero Trust implementation across multifaceted digital infrastructures, reflecting both companies' commitment to advancing the state of enterprise security.
