FYI, this story is more than a year old

Cybersecurity firm FireEye has appointed Richard Metcalfe as its regional director for Australia and New Zealand, in a promotion that has seen him promoted from sales manager after just six months.

Metcalfe has worked for FireEye since March 2014, where he first held an account director role. In January 2016 he became an Australian sales manager, after finally being appointed regional director in July.

Metcalfe has also worked as a major account manager, finance and banking for F5 Networks, national manager, security and security BDM Dimension data, and security roles at Softcat.

In addition, Phil Vasic has been appointed senior director, strategic partners and alliances, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Vasic has been appointed from his previous country manager role at FireEye, which he has held since January 2013. Vasic has also worked with Clearswift as vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan as well as ANZ country manager for Websense and enterprise account manager for Hewlett-Packard.

FireEye expects to announce its second quarter 2016 financial results on August 4, and was recently named one of the 50 smartest companies in the world by MIT Technology review.

The company provides advanced security services through a virtual machine platform that protects organisations from cyber attacks. The company serves more than 4700 customers in 67 countries, which includes more than 730 companies on the Forbes Global 2000.
